Passive lighting and ventilation at the Kashempur residence.

The Kashempur residence, located near Osman Gunj market, was built in 1921. The structure is more than 100 years old. It originally belonged to the Deshmukh family but is currently owned by the Kashempur family.

The architecture of this house is a blend of Persian and Victorian styles.

1. Clerestory windows- The residence has Clerestory windows to enhance both natural light and ventilation.

2. Courtyards- There was a courtyard. It was built for privacy and ventilation purposes.

3. Wooden roofThe residence has a wooden roof in certain areas. The wooden roof helps keep the interiors cool as wood is a good insulator.
